Connecting care for people and for life
Connections Solidaires was founded in Strasbourg on a simple observation: two emergencies are handled separately although they are one and the same — environmental damage and social fragility hit the same neighbourhoods, often the same families.
We raise awareness, provide support and build connections — between neighbourhood associations, local authorities, producers and families — so that every field project serves both at once.

Nobody protects for long what they do not know, and nobody gets to know anything when everything else is urgent.
Our story
The association was born in 2019, when three volunteers from a community garden in Neuhof met a youth worker who was supporting children dropping out of school a few streets away. The same neighbourhood, the same families, two schemes that ignored each other. Connections Solidaires was created to hold both ends together.
Seven years on, four areas structure our work: raising awareness of environmental and health issues, project development for organisations with no dedicated staff, solidarity trade that promotes virtuous supply chains, and school sponsorship. These are not four separate programmes: a gardening workshop often leads to a sponsorship, and a sponsorship to supporting a whole family.
The team is made up of two part-time employees and around thirty active volunteers, in Strasbourg and Nantes. One third of the board is renewed every year; the accounts and activity report are presented at a general meeting open to every member, and available on request.
We work with community centres, two municipalities of the Eurométropole, farmers from the Alsace plain and a network of partner craftspeople. What we cannot do, we say so and refer elsewhere: an honest referral is worth more than approximate support.
